An Instructor Encourages His Pupils To Learn More About Alcoholic Symptoms, Signs Of Alcoholism, And Symptoms Of Alcoholism

Mr. Johnson was one of the health instructors at a small country community college in the Southern part of the United States. For "Alcohol Awareness Month" he made up his mind that he would highlight the following three topics for a class project: the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism.

After Mr. Johnson finalized the topics that would be dispensed to his pupils, he made up his mind that he would supply them with their assignment the following Monday morning. When "assignment day" finally arrived, Mr. Johnson met with the students in his class, handed out some relevant research data, and then informed his pupils about the topics he ultimately selected.

He then gave his class a summary of some important signs of alcoholism and highlighted how vital it is to learn how to relate these statistics, symptoms, and facts with the real-life circumstances of alcoholics. He then gave his pupils a concise articulation about the significance of learning more about alcoholics and how they exist on a day-to-day basis.

Mr. Johnson told the students in his class that they could isolate on one of the three topics or talk about all three topics and how they are interconnected. In essence this would be comparable to a general abstract but done in a more wide-ranging fashion.

Another alternative that he offered to his class was the following: select a topic such as alcohol dependency symptoms and signs, dig into things in more detail, and then discuss four or five symptoms and signs. Mr. Johnson then pointed out the fact that the same logic applies to the other two topics, namely, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.

The end result of their research project would be a seven thousand word term paper and then a twenty-five minute oral presentation that would be given in front of the class. As a reward for their outstanding academic achievement, the pupils with the top four overall grades on the term paper and on the presentation will be encouraged to present the findings from their research project at the regional drug and alcohol abuse conference during the last six days of April.

As noted by Mr. Johnson, because there are quite a few alcoholism signs and symptoms to choose from, he brought up the fact that he was not very fretful about more than one student selecting the same signs and symptoms for their class project. Certainly, even if more than one student was to choose the same symptoms and signs, the examples that are related to each sign or symptom would certainly add enough assortment to circumvent several students presenting the same content.

Mr. Johnson then pointed out the fact that while there are numerous alcoholism signs and symptoms that could be selected, the variety of alcoholism statistics and facts that could be cataloged were almost without limit. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the conversation, moreover, the pupils grasped pretty quickly that the three topics would supply a substantial amount of material from which to select.

Why did Mr. Johnson select the signs of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the symptoms of alcoholism as the topics for this project? Mr. Johnson thought that by augmenting the understanding of his students about the negative consequences of alcohol addiction and the miserable daily routines experienced by alcohol dependent people, his students might think more sensibly before they got caught up in irresponsible drinking behavior.
