SUMOCHAM Drills

ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced evolution of the very thriving CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for a range of material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.

SUMOCHAM includes four different standard drill head geometries, designed for unsurpassed performance and high reliability. The drill head is manufactured with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are offered in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, continuous chip flow and a ground gash for improved penetration.

The drill shank design is according to DIN 9766 standard, with available drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies showcase coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion increases durability and reduces internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are precision ground, to increase the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will provide longer tool life and higher productivity.

DR-DH Deep Drills

DR-DH drills can accomplish drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Engineered to be employed on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of supplemental machine and setup can be avoided. They will be obtainable as semi-standard item in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").

Two versions will be available:

With ISCAR's innovative solid carbide deep hole drills, you can safely drill up to 22 times diameter and reach bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This capacity can speed up several high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it completely because a drill breaks.

Different target applications encompass deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A mixture of features assist the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and expel chips more readily. A unique high-strength core creates a more durable drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the exit path for chips.
