Another common way to find patterns is on videos. Personally, I am not really a fan of this variety. I like to be able to print out, or read out my pattern to myself. A video means that in the event that I want to stop in a particular spot, I have to go back and find that place in the video when I want to try again.
Additionally, you will find many patterns with great directions, but no images. I won't follow these either. I like to know what exactly I am making before I carry out instructions! It is difficult to imagine from someone's description. Also, if there are complicated stitches, I would like images which explain them.
